Council Meeting #04
Feb 11, 2020
Kenny Bell · Janet Brewster · Romeyn Stevenson · Joanasie Akumalik · Sheila Flaherty · Simon Nattaq · Kyle Sheppard · Malaiya Lucassie · Solomon Awa
No absence shown in the quarterly grid.
- Twenty-one entries 20-25 to 20-45 include fifteen substantive items. Agenda, three minute approvals, adding a delegation and adjournment are procedural. First and second readings of 885 appear twice, 20-32/33 and 20-35/36; preserve numbered entries without treating them as four different land disposals.
- 20-30 approved the Apex bed-and-breakfast change to six accommodation units; 20-31 approved a siding-policy recommendation. 20-34 approved a $215,000 Qaujigiartiit equity lease while Sheppard was outside. 20-37/38 gave final readings to amendments 842/843.
- 20-39 reinstated Public Safety Committee subject to revised Terms of Reference. 20-40 requested options on compensation and attendance. Bell proposed deductions for unreasonable absences, but this direction did not enact a deduction policy or impose an actual penalty.
- 20-41 supported a funding application and prints Sheppard as both mover and seconder; the attribution remains flagged. 20-42/43 appointed Bell to a NIRB process with Akumalik participation conditional on multiple representatives. These are representative roles, not new elected seats. 20-44 proclaimed the Year of the Nurse and Midwife.
- Nattaq gave advance notice of February 25 medical travel and proposed remote participation. This is not a resignation; February 25’s actual roster lists him absent.
