DECISIONS AND ISSUES
- Five entries SPED21-01 to SPED21-05 include three substantive recommendations. Fawcett chaired; Nattaq absent and Flaherty attended remotely.
- SPED21-02 recommended a SednaLink support letter by a named 6–1 vote: Stevenson, Akumalik, Sheppard, Brewster, Awa and Flaherty for; Bell opposed. Bell said the generic broadband support already authorized made a separate motion unnecessary. His opposition is not presented as opposition to improved internet.
- SPED21-03 recommended research on incorporating Inuktitut signage into business licensing. SPED21-04 recommended a small-business promotional package. Council separately adopted all three recommendations on April 13 under 21-102 to 21-104.
- Flaherty reported being unable to hear most of the business-licence discussion. No new Council seat appointment or resignation was recorded.
