Feb 1, 2022

Kenny Bell · Solomon Awa
Recorded absent
No absence shown in the quarterly grid.
DECISIONS AND ISSUES
- Four motions PSC22-01 to PSC22-04 match the numbering in the registry. Three concern procedural business; PSC22-03 is the substantive request for Public Safety Canada facilitation and support to develop a Community Safety Plan. Council separately approved the request February 22 in 22-42.
- PSC22-02 is described as agenda adoption in the minutes, with no minutes under the next heading; the registry calls it adoption of October 4, 2021 minutes. Both descriptions are procedural, so the discrepancy does not change the substantive count and no second motion is invented.
- Discussion addressed taxi drivers’ accounts of racism, violence and nonpayment, possible upfront payment and vouchers, and refusal-of-service rules. These are reported experiences and policy suggestions, not an adopted taxi bylaw at this meeting. The sole substantive motion began a safety-planning request rather than completing a safety plan.
