DECISIONS AND ISSUES
- The committee met from 6 to 6:55 p.m. PD 23-13 through PD 23-17 reconcile with the registry. Three unanimous recommendations were substantive; agenda and adjournment were procedural. A committee recommendation is not final council approval.
- PD 23-14 recommended a survey sketch creating an impound lot and another parcel along Qaqqamiut Road. Staff described an estimated $15,000 to $20,000 survey and a later zoning amendment; neither is a recorded award in this motion. Council approved the sketch March 28 as 23-90.
- PD 23-15 recommended an Apex vestibule expansion permit and side-yard variance from three to 2.2 metres. Council approved these March 28 as 23-91.
- PD 23-16 recommended first and second readings, an appraisal and a conditional land disposition for the Iqaluit Elders’ Society's housing project. The proposed price was 30 percent below appraised value or $28,280 assessed value, whichever was less. Council made a separate decision March 28 as 23-92.
- A memo on land for non-profit on-the-land programs drew discussion but no numbered motion. The minutes do not establish that a policy or land disposition was adopted at this meeting.
